Then, we take dental impressions of the teeth that are sent to a dental lab that creates custom crowns. We will place a temporary crown over your tooth or teeth receiving the crown while your permanent crown is being created. After several weeks, you will return to our office where we will remove your temporary crown and attach your permanent dental crown. We will make sure that your permanent crown is secure and feels comfortable.

CARING FOR DENTAL CROWNS

Dental crowns can be cared for just like natural teeth. Brushing and flossing your teeth regularly yet gently will help keep them healthy. Directly following your crown treatment, avoid hard foods or beverages like coffee, tea, or wine that can stain the crowns. We recommend that you schedule regular visits to our office, about once every six months so we can ensure your crowns fit properly.

If you have a broken crown, or if your dental crown falls out, try to recover the crown and call our office as soon as possible for an appointment.
